Description
Since their foundation, the European Communities have been confronted with many forms of misuse and abuse of Community funds. The exact size of this phenomenon is unknown but experts estimate that each year the EC looses up to 10 % of their budget as a consequence of various kinds of fraud. If these estimates are accurate, we are dealing with a very costly problem.

To discuss the legal aspects of EC Fraud, an international conference was held in 1991 in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). Experts from all the Member States, on the juridical aspects of fraud, participated in the conference which resulted in a number of contributions in English and French which are gathered in this book.

The participants were asked to write their analyses on EC Fraud using a comparative legal approach. Contributions which are important and useful for anyone who is studying the various legal systems of the Member States.
