These proceedings...offer a valuable insight into how mathematics and Origami are interrelated. This collection of fascinating papers range from the mathematics of a single fold on a rectangular piece of paper (Haga's TUP) to a mathematical model for non-flat origami. It includes several articles about modular origami... as well as about the perhaps more familiar single-sheet style. Some articles take simple origami starting points to develop an aspect of mathematics, whilst others use mathematics to gain insight into the nature of families of origami objects. It is not a 'how to' book about paperfolding, but a book of paperfolding mathematics. Any mathematician who delves inside will certainly find things to be fascinated by. -David Mitchell, The Mathematical Gazette, March 2006More details
