Alex Hughes is Professor of Twentieth-Century French Literature and Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Academic Quality and Students of the University of Birmingham. Her research lies in interdisciplinary, cross-cultural studies, and her books include Heterographies, which was awarded the R. H. Gapper Prize by the Society for French Studies in 2001.
