Description
The Dearing review of the National Curriculum stressed that literacy should pervade all subjects in the primary phase and the "Learning Through Literacy" series is designed to help teachers put this into practice. "Myself" is a cross-curricular resource that helps teachers to combine their literacy teaching with work in science, geography, history, maths and personal and social education. The box contains a selection of eight trade books, fiction and non-fiction, a full-colour text based visual resources pack and a teachers' resource book with background information, a selection of lesson plans and photocopiable activity sheets and a 20-page photocopiable anthology. Differentiation is built into the lesson plans, enabling teachers to select activities according to year group or ability and to map out progression in their children's learning. Clear learning objectives are identified for each activity, providing a clear framework for assessment.
