Ancient Greece

This is a teaching kit in the "History Study Kits" series. It provides a range of resources for teaching the History Core Unit 5 for KS2, and covers Ancient Greece. The pack provides a look at the way of life, beliefs and achievements of the Ancient Greeks to give knowledge and understanding of the civilization of Ancient Greece and its legacy to the modern world. The kit contains a structured teaching programme which is split into sections such as the city state, arts and architecture, myths and legends, war and colonolization and influence on the modern world. Each section contains detailed background information for the teacher, lesson plans, photocopiable fact and activity sheets, and assessment and homework sheets. A children's storybook is included. It is a fictional account, based on events at the time, of a year in the life of the son of a commander in the Athenian army.
