Description
The present volume describes about 300 known compounds with two, three, or four different organic groups bonded to the Pb center, plumbacyclic compounds, as well as hydridolead compounds of the general formula R4-nPbHn with n = 1,2,3. Out of this variety, Me2PbEt2 , Me3PbH, and Et3PbH have been investigated more extensively. A compound in which a R3Pb moiety interacts with a side-on bonded acetylene group constitutes a new type with five carbon - lead bonds and thus has gained some attention. With the present volume all the information on tetraorganolead compounds is now available and concentrated in five volumes which represent an unmatched compilation in this field of chemistry.
