Description
A celebration of the beauty and longevity of one of the greatest tree collections in the world - Westonbirt Arboretum - this is the first illustrated book on Westonbirt for nearly twenty years.
The National Arboretum at Westonbirt is one of the most spectacular tree gardens in the world. An historical collection of over 3,000 different trees and shrub species, many of which are rare or endangered in their native lands, it covers some 600 acres. Classified as a Grade-I listed landscape, the layout preserves the nineteenth century design by W.S. Gilpin in the picturesque style.

It has been some time since the last illustrated work on Westonbirt, and it may be some time before another is needed: this is one that will stand reprinting many times. House & Garden This is a beautiful book which with its complementary words and outstanding photographs would enhance any coffee-table but it is also one that will give pleasure before or after a visit to Westonbirt.
