Robert Ervin Howard (1906 - 1936) was born and living in Texas/USA. He invented the fictional Hyborean Age, in which the tales about Conan the Cimmerian take place. He wrote 21 stories about Conan and one poem and one essay about the world he lives. Moreover he created other famous characters like Kull the Conqueror and Salomon Kane. He is regarded as the father of the Sword and Sorcery Subgenre.
