Person
Steve Hoselitz was born in Sheffield shortly after the end of WWII. His family relocated to the Surrey suburbs when he was five. He failed to thrive at school and crashed out of full-time education half way through his A-levels. By a series of flukes, he managed to find a job on a technical journal while still in his teens, progressing to be deputy editor. By then, he aspired to work in more mainstream journalism and worked in Fleet Street for a while before taking what today they would call a 'career break'.
He spent a year working as a freelance editor in India in his early twenties, before returning to the UK and joining a daily newspaper in the north of England. In the late seventies, he moved to South Wales, where he still lives, and worked as a daily newspaper editor before setting up his own media consultancy with a colleague from TV news. He is married, with one daughter and wonderful grandchildren. He still works as a freelance journalist and is a keen craft potter.
