Description
The Social Work Practicum offers a unique workbook format designed to facilitate the integration of social work theory and practice during the student's practicum.
This workbook provides a structure for formulating the student's learning goals, identifying learning activities, clarifying agency and school expectations, and preparing a learning agreement for the practicum.
It guides the student through an examination of the many areas of practicum-related learning, including social policy, the agency and community contexts of practice, legal and ethical considerations, cultural diversity, theoretical frameworks, and the evaluation of practice.
As students read the background information sections and complete the workbook activities in each chapter, they record important information about their practicum setting, analyze their experience, and gain new insights. As a result of completing the workbook activities, students are able to describe and discuss their experiences and observations in a more systematic and thoughtful manner.
