Factory Physics

This introduction to manufacturing management considers historical practices and the natural behaviour laws at work in factories, before going on to examine operating policies and strategic objectives. Recent trends and issues, including JIT concepts, TQM and the theory of constraints are covered. In addition, all traditional methods of manufacturing planning and controls are examined, and others introduced - conwip, cadet, protracks and hyper-jit.
