Gordon Cochrane Home was an English landscape painter, author, and illustrator who lived from July 25, 1878, until December 13, 1969. London is where Home first appeared. He was employed as an art editor by publishers A & C Black as well as "The Tatler" and "The King." After serving in France and North Africa as a Major in the Royal Army Service Corps from 1914 to 1920, he went on extensive travels throughout North Africa, the British Empire, and the Commonwealth. Home regularly showed at the Royal Academy and focused mostly on watercolor and pen and ink painting. In 1921, he participated in the Society of Graphic Art's inaugural annual exhibition. Home penned and illustrated numerous travel and historical fiction books for companies such as A & C Black and J M Dent.
