This spring, a series of documentary specials produced by HBO, the National Institute on Aging and the Alzheimer's Association will bring new understanding and hope to millions of US citizens who fear they will lose their memories and their lives to Alzheimer's Disease. Until recently, the medical news on Alzheimer's was not comforting. In HBO's state-of-the-science report, the leading scientists in the field will reveal ways that research into causes and prevention has crossed a threshold. The companion book to the groundbreaking series, featuring an Introduction by Maria Shriver, will explain the science in easy-to-understand terms, focusing on the implications for improving our chances of remaining cognitively vital throughout a long life.
