Description
Splash and her fellow travelers on the ocean-research Bubble have been invited to join a swim event in the San Francisco Bay to support sharks. But Splash doesn't know anything about sharks. Are they mean and hungry all the time? Do a lot of people get bitten by them? How many sharks are actually out there?
Splash does some research on the Internet and quickly decides that they should not be going swimming in the bay. She believes chances are very high they will be attacked by sharks. But is that true?
Splash learns about the risks of many things we do in everyday life and how we can manage those risks. She also learns better ways of doing research on the Internet, how to check sources, and how to compare facts among sources. After several tries at research, Splash finally reaches a conclusion.
Will Splash decide it's safe to swim in the bay?

Sandy Hoag grew up in Silicon Valley, California, and now lives a bit south in Monterey County with her husband and sometimes one or both of her grown kids. Definitely she lives with her dogs - Charity and Carly - who love to take long walks on the beach. This is Sandy's first series of books. She hopes to share her love and wonder of the ocean and to suggest ways we can all become better caretakers of the beautiful natural world around us.
