Description
"Ma Sally cooks the best black-eyed peas in Charleston County, South Carolina, and her son, John, is the most eligible bachelor in town. When Ma Sally proclaims that nobody can marry her John unless they can cook as well as she can, the women in town line up to try. Nobody even comes close. But there's a new young woman in town, Princess, and it turns out she's a pretty fantastic cook. She also has a mind of her own. Author-illustrator Rachel Himes serves up a Southern reimagining of a classic fairy tale, along with a tasty recipe for black-eyed peas"--
