Description
Sound and light are two fundamental aspects of experiencing life. For example, sound waves can be reflected off a surface, like an echo, and light can also be reflected, such as when people see themselves in a mirror. Although sound and light waves travel in slightly different ways, vibration is always the source of the motion. Sound and Light explores both types of waves--from how they are generated to how they interact with the world around them. Understanding the way sound and light interact can answer frequently asked questions, such as why the ocean is blue and why the siren on an ambulance seems to change pitch as it speeds past.
