Towards Sustainability looks at the ways that new systems for documenting ecologically sustainable development have been evolving in Australia. - These systems are currently in a state of flux, with the traditional means of generating information for our decision makers and managers, including politicians and policy, analysts being replaced by the new, emerging systems documented in this book. - Some of the issues the book considers include the history of the development of sustainability concepts in Australia, environmental and economic models and measures of sustainability, sustainability indicators, and designing and testing future models of sustainability.
