A Field Guide to Roughness Characteristics of Gravel-Bed Rivers

In a variety of river engineering projects it is necessary to determine the discharge of a river. In the absence of locally gauged values, which is often the case discharges have to be estimated using resistance equations. Based on the data from 62 surveyed sites on gravel-bed rivers in the UK, this reference document contains site photographs, cross sections, and bed material size data.
