The Foundations of a Democratic Economy

The relationship between economic theory and political policy is currently undermined by a lack of science in establishment economics. This book outlines some of the problems with establishment economics and how an adequate science of economics would provide a foundation supporting democracy. It goes further by addressing the problems with education that inhibit the development of humanity for zones of enquiry such as economics, politics and political careers. This is followed by solutions to the problems in education as well as a method of science designed to implement a control of human meaning in education generally and subsequently in economics. The author draws on the thought of Bernard Lonergan, a Canadian philosopher, to develop the positions on economics and education expressed in this book. This book would function well as an Introduction to political science, as well as discourse on political and economic theory in the 21st century. It will also aid the average reader in understanding the geopolitical and economic turmoil of the 21st century.
