Hearing Loss in Children

Pediatric hearing loss remains a significant health concern, with approximately four in every thousand children born with hearing impairment and nearly 20% affected by the age of twelve. Hearing loss may be temporary or permanent, yet more than 60% of cases are preventable. Early identification and timely intervention are essential to improving outcomes. This Special Issue provides an overview of pediatric hearing loss, including its causes, the importance of early detection, challenges in evaluation and diagnosis, management approaches, and strategies for prevention.
