Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems in Epidemiology

Studies using remote sensing (RS), obtaining ecological information from a distance, combined with geographical information systems (GIS), can substantially increase understanding of many diseases affecting humans and their livestock. This volume covers the theoretical and statistical background, research and operational initiatives, as well as future perspectives. Reviews of current work on malaria, trypanosomiasis, helminths and tick-borne disease will allow researchers to see how these techniques might be useful for their own work.
