Description
High up in Australia's eucalyptus trees, Mahmi the koala and her joey Garbaa spend most of their time wedged between two branches, munching on leaves and taking long naps. But when a new road is constructed through the forest, the koalas find themselves separated from their home tree.

As a young girl, Carrie Hasler loved stapling sheets of blank paper together to write and illustrate her very own picture books. Her passion for writing and creativity continued into adulthood as an elementary school teacher. Whenever she couldn't find the right reading material for her students, she would simply write it herself. With more than 20 years of experience in education, Carrie helped launch Blue Sneaker Press in 2015 where she publishes and writes children's books and curricula to educate, entertain, and engage children on subjects that affect our world. When she's not writing, you can find Carrie working in her garden or in her pottery studio in San Diego, California, where she lives with her family. Barbara's colorful watercolor and digital illustrations have appeared in many books and publications. A lifelong love of drawing and reading led her to children's picture books. Her deep fascination with nature shows in the whimsical yet meticulously detailed animals she paints. Barbara also enjoys hiking, bicycling, sand blasting glass, reading to kids, and cooking with her husband in their Nashville, Tennessee, home.
