Freezing

This volume presents a collection of previously unpublished work on the notion of freezing in generative grammar. In its most general terms, freezing is understood as a constraint on the displacement of constituents. This volume is a unique contribution to the debate on freezing by bringing together experts in the domain of syntax, information structure and processing to shed light on one of the most fundamental properties of human language.
