Description
Leadership and Leadership Development: A Comprehensive Review provides a timely and invaluable resource for scholars, practitioners, and students seeking to understand leadership in all its complexity. The book's primary value lies in its ability to synthesise diverse perspectives, offering readers a comprehensive lens through which to examine both the theory and practice of leadership. By combining critical reflections with contemporary approaches, the volume equips readers to navigate the evolving challenges of leadership in organisations, communities, and societies.
The twelve chapters showcase the richness of leadership research, spanning themes such as authentic and responsible leadership, distributed leadership, the moral compass of servant leadership, and the dark side of leadership. The book also addresses pressing contemporary issues including cultural intelligence, gendered and global leadership dynamics, and the role of entrepreneurial leadership in driving innovation. This breadth ensures that readers not only gain theoretical insights but also practical tools and strategies for leadership development.
Crucially, the book highlights innovative methodological approaches, encouraging a deeper and more nuanced understanding of leadership processes across contexts. By mapping the state of the field and offering future directions, it positions itself as an essential reference point for advancing leadership knowledge and practice in the 21st century.
