Description
"LIVE BY HOPE.
GIVE AND RECEIVE MERCY.
OVERCOME THROUGH FAITH.
Hope, Merci, and Grace are, by all accounts, sisters, though they do not share the same blood. At a young age, the three girls vow to be sisters forever, and from that moment forward, choose each other as family every day. They share their lives, their triumphs, their pitfalls, and their hearts. They celebrate in their victories together, and pick one another up when they fall.
In this stunning debut novel, Joyce Adjekum introduces the world to three women who epitomize friendship, love, and resounding courage. Each different in their own ways, Hope, Merci, and Grace are as real to us as those we love: our sisters, our mothers, and our friends. This is their story.

Joyce Adjekum was born in Ghana and spent her early years there. After the death of her father, she moved to England as a teenager to live with her mother. Joyce's education spans three countries: she attended elementary and middle school in Ghana, high school in England, and college in the United States. Although she has been an information technology professional for the past twenty years, she received her bachelor's degree in theater, and art is still where her heart is. Joyce loves to write, cook, and travel. She is an entrepreneur and an accomplished public speaker. In 2016, just before beginning to manufacture her famous hot sauce, she was diagnosed with Lyme disease. It was in her darkest moments of battling the disease that she conceived Not By Blood, a fictional story inspired by her two best friends in England whom she considers true sisters. This is her first novel.
