This book is a personal account by G. Harris (Mrs James P. Harris) of the siege of Lucknow during the Mutiny of 1857. It chronicles on a day-to-day basis the experiences of those within the Residency's battered walls and vividly recreates the days between 15 April 1857 to 3 January 1858 in the form of diary entries.
