Poetry of the First World War

For many, the senseless destruction of the 'Great War' is most clearly exemplified by the blighted careers of the 'War Poets': astonishingly creative and literate young men like Wilfred Owen, Ruper Brooke and Edward Thomas, whose youthful promise was destined to be extinguished forever on the battlefields of Europe.
