Margaret Hamilton AM ran Margaret Hamilton Books for almost ten years, an internationally successful company with a reputation for high quality children's books, which she began with her husband Max. Her Order of Australia Medal (2008) was 'for service to the arts through the promotion of children's literature and literacy and through support for authors and illustrators'. Margaret's passion and recognition for wider promotion of picture books led her to found the Children's Book Cottage at Blackheath, Pinerolo, in 2010. She is currently Deputy National Chair for the Children's Book Council of Australia. Her first picture book B is for Bedtime (2014) was a CBCA Notable Book and her second, Counting Through the Day, was launched at the CBCA National Conference in May 2016.
