Attention Deficit Disorder

Millions of children and adults have difficulty concentrating, sitting still, finishing what they started and getting organized; but what appears to be a matter of self-discipline is actually, for many sufferers, the result of attention deficit disorder (ADD), a newly-detected neurological syndrome which affects 5% of schoolchildren, and which is expected to become the health subject of the 90s. Characterized by symptoms such as easy distractability, low tolerance of frustration or boredom, a tendency to impulsivity and a predilection for situations of high intensity, the condition, if untreated, persists into adulthood.
