Jane Hall and Dixie Haywood are longtime friends, collaborators, and award-winning quiltmakers, who have authored seven books together since their first in 1989. They both work with innovative variations of traditional designs and have a strong commitment to provide students with basic fundamentals as well as creative approaches. They have a fascination with the Pineapple pattern, to which they return time after time.
Jane lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, and has been a quilt teacher and judge for more than 25 years. She has a particular interest in creative coloration and sets. She teaches online as well as nationally and enjoys turning students on to the finer points of using foundations for all kinds of piecing, both traditional and innovative.

Dixie has lived in Pendleton, South Carolina, since 2005. She started quilting in the late 1960s and has been a teacher, lecturer, designer, and judge on the national scene since 1977. She has been homebound with spinal arthritis for the past year but continues to work, albeit more slowly, on quilting ideas that call to her.
