Jim Halderman brings a world of experience to his writing. He has been a professional service technician, business owner and a professor at a nationally known college for over 20 years. Jim has a Bachelor's degree from Ohio Northern University and a Masters in Education from Miami University (Ohio) and is an ASE Certified Master Technician plus L1 and Alternative Fuel. Jim has written many automotive textbooks published by Pearson - Prentice Hall Publishing Company and is the Chek-Chart automotive textbook series editor. Jim also writes a weekly newspaper column titled "Straight Talk" for the Dayton Daily News in Dayton Ohio and is the holder of a U.S. patent (5,505,284) for an electronic transmission control device. He was named outstanding alumni from Ohio Northern University and outstanding regional instructor by General Motors Corporation.
Jim is also a member (member grade) of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) as well as the North American Council of Automotive Teachers (NACAT) and has given technical presentations for many years at California Automotive Teachers (CAT), Illinois College Automotive Instructor Association (ICAIA) and national conferences.
