Description
The First English Edition of Fr. Dr. Phillip Haeuser's critical look at the Epistle of Barnabas.
First written in German in 1912 it has gone through numerous editions and is found in many theological libraries in the United States.
The Epistle of Barnabas was written by the Apostle Barnabas to Christians undergoing persecution in the Roman Empire. It encourages them to hold fast to the Faith, and explains why their faith is superior to that of the Old Covenant.
Fr. Haeuser writes with clarity and style and is easy to read even though it is a critical work. The work was originally written as his thesis for his Doctor of Theology degree from the Albert Ludwig University in Freiburg. Many footnotes are included for the serious student of the Apostolic Fathers.
