They cover many aspects of the problems of conservation and preservation. Topics addressed include the differing demands of the scholar and conservator; buildings and the problems of maintaining a satisfactory environment; preservation factors in the design of new libraries; materials; and techniques involved in caring for and repairing manuscripts.
