Description
It's the 1870s in the state of Texas. James Fionnghall was sadly orphaned at an early age. As an adult, he first became a Southern Baptist Minister. Not long after, he became a Texas State hangman. James is a troubled man with a dark past who's on an intimate trek in search of righteousness. Although a devout Christian, he's criss-crossing Texas performing executions. He perceives he's attempting to lay bare his own brand of salvation. More and more, he struggles with the impression that his chosen occupations are morally diametrically opposed. Gradually, his vocations become overtly, inextricably entwined, pulling him into a deeply personal existential crisis.

Person
Don Hackett is the author of A Lesser God and Strange Perspectives. His degrees in Sociology, Psychology and Special Education led him to a career working with special needs individuals. The more time he spent working in this field, the more he became interested in the natural altruistic tendencies of mankind, and the lack of them. He took the behaviors he witnessed and matched them against current social constructs. This approach to understanding the human condition worked to allow him to look deeply at not only the good in mankind, but to even a greater extent at the harshness of humanity. His tendency to look at human behavior in an analytical fashion is the basis of his writing style. Man's inhumanity to man is a recurring theme in his writing. He is an existentialist writer by definition but he prefers to be known as a writer of alternative prose.https://www.facebook.com/donhackettauthor
