Description
When Jess is knocked off her bicycle she finds her self at the gates of Heaven early - before her actual death date. Striking a deal with the angel on duty she is allowed to return to earth to visit her friends and family in invisible ghost form, until she's due back to the Pearly gates. But Jess soon learns more about her friends and family than she ever realised and ultimately she is faced with a real life or death dilemma.
Reviews / Votes
A moving story of friendship and family told through a unique teen battling with 'the other side'. Gutteridge presents Jessica as a fiery teenager that's independent yet worries how others view her. Over the book, she evolves and develops as different secrets and truths are revealed to her. Gutteridge has produced a great book with the perfect balance of humour, serenity and love. Overall, I recommend the book to anyone wanting to sit down with an easy read. * Neave Dowling * A very touching book about friendship and love. -- AOIFE WESTON * Kiss magazine * This type of life/death, partial-return-to-earth is not easy to handle, but the author achieves it with considerablesuccess. Her teenage characters are convincing and their problems poignantly expressed, while her strong narrative disguises a number of seemingly incidental, but nonetheless valid moral messages. * Leicester Mercury * It's such a poignant story for young teens that you can't help reading parts of it with a lump in your throat. Make sure you have your tissues at the ready. -- Jayne Howarth * Manchester Evening News * "It's a heart-warming story that really makes you think about how well you know the ones you love, yet it isn't overly sentimental or sickly sweet." -- Hazel Holmes * Chicklish * 'an emotional yet not draining story about grief, love and forgiveness.' * Luna's Little Library *
