Description
Biotechnology is revolutionizing the way we diagnose, monitor, and manage diseases across species. This fourth volume in the Advances and Applications in Biotechnology series presents a comprehensive exploration of molecular tools, artificial intelligence, and next-generation technologies that are reshaping veterinary and biomedical diagnostics.
From foundational discussions on nonculture molecular techniques and the validation of PCR assays to specialized applications such as multiplex RT-PCR for leukemia detection and real-time PCR for Brachyspira identification, the book demonstrates the precision and adaptability of molecular diagnostics in diverse contexts.
Chapters on microbial dysbiosis in Crohn's disease models and the genetic characterization of intestinal spirochaetes highlight the intricate interplay between pathogens and host systems, offering insights into disease mechanisms and therapeutic strategies.
A distinctive section of the volume focuses on artificial intelligence and machine learning, showcasing innovations such as AI-driven wearable devices for personalized drug therapy, AI tools for zoonotic disease prediction in Asia and Africa, and machine learning applications for effective surveillance of zoonotic threats. These contributions underscore the transformative role of digital technologies in global health.
The volume concludes with a forward-looking discussion of CRISPR-Cas technology for pathogen detection in animals, a frontier that epitomizes the convergence of molecular biology and biotechnology in creating rapid, precise, and adaptable diagnostic platforms.
Bringing together contributions from leading researchers across disciplines and geographies, this book is an essential resource for scientists, veterinarians, and students seeking to understand and harness the power of molecular diagnostics and intelligent systems in advancing animal and human health.
