The volume begins with an index of past publications and a preview of planned volumes of the series. An index of authors and a foreword by the editors are followed by eight scientific articles. The book ends with instructions for authors. The papers deal with the influence of environmental factors on enamel hypoplasia in domestic sheep and goats in south-western Kenya, with ethnoarchaeological research on the economy of cattle-breeding Shuwa-Arabs at three settlement types of the Houlouf region of North Cameroon, with the consequences of the use of donkeys for transport purposes by Maasai women in Kenya, with traditional hunting methods and archaeozoological investigations in central West Greenland, with the former animal exploitation of the Haiom in the Etosha region, with ethnography and southern African archaeozoology by the examples of the "central cattle pattern", symbolic graves, divining bones, and food taboos, with Late Holocene archaeozoology in East Africa, and with the archaeological and archaeozoological investigation of a 17th century stone built wolf pit at Oberlienz, Eastern Tyrol, Austria.
