Encompasses paintings, illuminated manuscripts, sculpture, stained glass, tapestries and mosaics from the past 1,500 years to provide an overview of the sources and symbolism of biblical accounts of the Apocalypse, with chapters on specific imagery, in which Old and New Testament verses are presented along with images by great Western artists.
