Eric W. Gritsch was Emeritus Professor of Church History at Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Among his many works are Fortress Introduction to Lutheranism (1994), Lutheranism: The Theological Movement and Its Confessional Writings (with Robert W.
