Sally Grindley won the Smarties Gold Prize in 2004 with her children's novel, Spilled Water. This is her third Max novel. Sally lives in Cheltenham and has won many awards and prizes. Tony Ross is one of the most highly regarded children's book illustrators in Britain. For Orchard he has illustrated several myths series, Swords, Sorcerers and Superheroes, and the One and Only books by Laurence Anholt. Tony lives in Cheshire.
