Description
With recent government moves towards school-based teacher training, this book presents a timely look at the collaboration of professionals in schools and higher education, working together in equal partnerships.
A wide variety of higher education institutions and primary and secondary schools are represented; and all contributors have had extensive experience of working in, assessing and developing school-based initial teacher education. The chapters examine variations, similarities and aspects of diversity between different models of initial teacher education in both primary and secondary education. A viewpoint from the largest of the teachers associations, the National Union of Teachers (NUT), is also represented.
