Beyond the Dark Night

This study examines the role of the Church in a multi-cultural, multi-faith, post-modern society, questioning its relevance to young people, who often look elsewhere for answers to their concerns. In vain, often, they look for pastoral sensitivity to the issues raised by the secular relationships, and for forgiveness and welcome in the face of marriage breakdown. Accessibly written, this study engages with the experience of groups which operate on the margins of the Church. It seeks to offer a contribution to contemporary ecclesiology, and looks forward to the future of the Church.
