Description
This fun and educational book, themed around everything to do with farm and farm animals, will keep young children entertained for hours. Farm takes a narrative approach in which two children, Mary and Max, show young readers around their uncle and aunt's farm. We see them visiting the wheat fields, stables, milking barn, orchard and vegetable patch as well as taking a ride in a tractor.
All this and more is charmingly depicted by French illustrator Alain Gree, whose stunning vintage illustrations leap out from every page.

Reviews / Votes
The Farm, which explains a working farm's operations and where some foods and clothing items come from, is a little more accessible to emerging American readers. Artwork in both titles is cheery and colorful, populated by diverse humans. VERDICT The Farm is recommended for purchase in schools and early learning collections in public libraries, as it's better suited to American audiences. * School Library Journal *More details

Person
Alain Gree is a French author and illustrator of children's books. He has had over 300 books published, which have been translated into 20 different languages. He also worked as a children's broadcaster on French national television, produced three detective novels, ten ship navigation books and was a journalist for 20 years for Voiles et Voiliers (sailing ships) magazine. Alain's main hobby was sailing. He owned several boats since the 1970s and crossed the Atlantic Ocean twice. He found that his sailing trips provided the perfect time out to work on new children's stories and illustrations.
