Description
The excavation of St Andrew, Fishergate uncovered the largest quantity of window glass from any house of this monastic order. Research on this glass provided the opportunity to study all other know assemblages fo window glass associated with the Gilbertines, and the results and interpretations are presented here. The evidence allows an accurate assessment of the two main periods of glazing, an evaluation of the changing styles and the social and economic context of their production.
