Compendium of Chitons

This book is the most up to date compilation of living chitons in accordance with the latest classification. It represents 80 % of the known species or nearly 840 species out of 1068 extant species. Chitons are mainly living in the tidal or subtidal area, but many are abyssal species, living in 1000 meters depth down to 6000 m, feeding on sunken woods or other debris.
