Case Studies in Suicide

Paul F. Granello Ph.D., LPCC, is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and an Associate Professor of Counselor Education at The Ohio State University. Paul is a founder and Chief Science Officer of the Ohio Suicide Prevention Foundation. In addition, he has over $2.2 million in grants to provide suicide prevention in Ohio. He has coauthored a book on suicide assessment and treatment, Suicide: An Essential Guide for Helping Professionals and Educators, with Darcy Haag Granello. He has published 20 scientific articles in peer-reviewed national journals and has authored 10 book chapters on suicide, anxiety, and computers in counseling as well as wellness. Paul has presented peer-reviewed papers at state, national, and international conferences on topics related to suicide, psychotherapy outcomes, and wellness.

Gerald A. Juhnke, Ed.D., LPC, NCC, MAC, ACS, CCAS, is a Professor and the Doctoral Program Director for The University of Texas at San Antonio's Counselor Education and Supervision Program. Jerry has authored, coauthored, or coedited five books and over 35 refereed scholarly journal articles. He has specialized in the areas of suicide, life-threatening behaviors, and family addictions since 1986. Jerry is a former President of two counseling associations, the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors and the Association for Assessment in Counseling. Jerry has received numerous professional counseling awards, including the American Counseling Association's Ralph E. Berdie Research Award, the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors' Journal of Addictions and Offender Counseling Research Award, and most recently, the International Association of Addictions and Offender Counselors' Addictions Educator Excellence Award.
