Description
There is not a car in the world that is equal to the Nissan GT-R in its popularity and unique handling characteristics. However, the Nissan GT-R was and still is a half-ready product. Therefore modification of this car is crucial for realisation of its enormous potential. This book explains the distinctive features of the GT-R and how they determine the car's dynamics. It contains an original and critical analysis of the GT-R models, and reveals positive and negative features of different systems of these cars. Modifications of the engine, drivetrain, all-wheel drive system, wheels, tyres, brake system, suspension, body structure and aerodynamics of the GT-R by the top British and Japanese tuners are covered. The book shows all upgrading stages for all systems of all GT-R models, with modified street legal and racing GT-Rs also described, along with road racing, sprint, endurance and drag racing modified GT-Rs. The dramatic story of a several-year competition between two top Japanese tuners, MINE'S and MCR, is explored, plus another interesting story about the left-hand drive R33 and R34 GT-Rs and the Unlimited V12, 4-turbo all-wheel drive GT-R.

Person
Alex Gorodji has been working with Skylines GT-Rs for many years, specialising in studying the all-wheel drive and all-wheel steering systems of these cars. While operating his own company, he developed left-hand drive conversions of different GT-R models. His cars have been displayed at many auto shows, exhibitions and events, including Petersen Automotive Museum, SEMA shows, and American LeMans series. They have also featured in magazine articles and on television programs. Such authorities as Bob Bondurant and Rhys Millen have driven the left-hand drive GT-Rs built by Alex, and enthusiastically praise their handling characteristics.
