Description
Pitting corrosion poses a significant threat to infrastructure in engineering and there is a lack of comprehensive modeling methodologies to assess the effectiveness of corrosion mitigation strategies specifically designed for various structural systems. This book addresses the need for comprehensive, advanced models that integrate the various stages and factors involved in the process. It covers corrosion fatigue mechanisms and the influence of stress and temperature, and ways to mitigate corrosion induced damage in structural components.
Discusses exclusive material on modeling of the pitting corrosion process
Provides a brief outline of experimental techniques for pitting corrosion
Advanced numerical modeling techniques are explained with a number of examples
Presents data on modular form for easy understanding of the modeling techniques
Includes equations/flow charts to generate the numerical codes
This book is a reference for scholars, educators, and practitioners interested in exploring the potential of CPS for inclusive rural development.
