Description
KFYK - Kingfisher Young Knowledge is a science-based, highly visual, inspirational learning experience. Lively, engaging text explains the basics of a favourite subject, zooming in on intriguing aspects illustrated with stunning full-colour photographs. Project spreads, featuring activities to do at home or when out and about, encourage hands-on involvement and understanding. KFYK Solar System introduces readers to the ever-popular topic of space, and the amazing worlds that make up our Solar System. Learn about the enormous Sun at its centre, about the rock planets and huge gas giants that orbit it, and the other objects, such as moons, comets and asteroids, that inhabit its reaches. From lifeless craters on the Moon to the storms of Jupiter's Great Red Spot, readers will be fascinated to learn about the variety of places throughout our Solar System and to see the photos beamed back from distant space probes. Fun projects, such as making ice-cream comets, a bedroom planetarium, and observing the Moon in the night sky, allow children to investigate the subject for themselves.
