Description
On the day of a lunar eclipse, a young girl observes the shadows of the city and helps a new friend step out of his shyness
On a walk to the park, a young girl delights in the shadows of the city: dog shadows and bicycle shadows, bus shadows and lots of people shadows. During her walk, she notices a shy boy who is all alone and doesn't seem to cast a shadow at all. The girl invites the boy to join her shadow play, and he slowly comes out of his shell. And as the daylight fades, the earth casts its entire planet-sized shadow on the moon in a total lunar eclipse!
Simple on the surface, this story invites readers to notice the world around them and the relationships we have with each other and the natural world--from shadows and light to the power of patience and friendship.
